Do you feel butterflies in your stomach or maybe your hands are sweating more than usual?
Maybe you find yourself walking around thinking about every single detail of what is just about to happen… It’s the day you’ve been waiting for.
When I was a gymnast, managing my emotions before and during the competition was one of the biggest challenges. I was nervous, anxious, thinking about all the things that could possibly go wrong, it was exhausting and not helpful. Sometimes I still have these feelings when an important day is just around the corner.
If you feel this way, I totally get it! But it doesn’t have to be like that and you can actually enjoy and perform at your very best every time you do something new or challenging.
Here you have 5 Golden Tips.
This is like training in your mind! You can sit comfortably in a nice and quiet place, close your eyes and imagine your best act. Practice every day in your mind what you want to see in real life. Imagine all the details and fell powerful and confident. Win in your mind first!
I use this app @insight. Chose a guided meditation, get comfortable and start to breathe and relax. Meditation brings us to the present moment and helps us to connect with ourselves. Forget about tomorrow, focus on today.
3. Break it.
Maybe you find yourself stuck in something that is not going as it supposed to be. Break the pattern! Stop, have a dance, laugh, tell a joke, eat a piece of chocolate, breath… and then, try it again! Refresh your mind and body, and then with confidence, do it.
4. Put it on writing or say it out loud.
Whatever you feel worried about, take it out of your system! Maybe you would like to journal it or talk with someone you trust. Take it out, breath, and let it go. That’s your fear talking and not you, so don’t listen too much, trust your power.
5. Breath and Enjoy.
If you feel anxious, just take a moment to breathe deeply and relax your whole body. Then… put a big smile, your best Champion’s pose, and do it! Life, business and Sports are about having fun and growth.
And if you make a mistake, what’s the worst thing that could happen? Think about it.
Remember that you already are a WINNER and every time you DO you WIN beyond the medals.
Win experience, knowledge, lessons, friends, more joy, confidence… Focus on that!
I hope these tips help you the next time you have a BIG DAY! Let me know how did you go!
Keep going Champion!
